Application Process
1. Complete the online application.
Submit the or . There is no application fee.
2. Send your high school transcripts.
- Send us an official transcript from every high school/secondary school you’ve attended. If you are enrolled in your final year of high school, please send records for the previous three years of school completed. If necessary, you should provide a translated copy in English. International transcripts may be sent electronically by school officials to internationaladmission@luc.edu.
- If you were homeschooled at any point, please complete this form.
3. Submit proof of English proficiency.
The application may require you to submit official TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, or Duolingo English Test scores as proof of proficiency. A minimum score of 79 is required for the TOEFL, 6.5 for IELTS, 53 for the PTE, and 110 for Duolingo.
4. Ask for a recommendation letter.
A letter of recommendation may come from a teacher or school counselor who can speak to your ability to be successful at Loyola. Students using the Common Application will submit a letter of recommendation through that system. Students using the 黑料门application may send recommendation letter requests within the application. Recommendation letters may also be sent via email to admissionforms@luc.edu.
NOTE: Letters must always come directly from a teacher or counselor to be considered.
OPTIONAL: Submit your ACT or SAT scores.
黑料门is test-optional so students can decide if they would like to include ACT and/or SAT scores in their application. 黑料门superscores results, meaning we review the highest subscore from each section over multiple exams. If you include test scores, we recommend sharing all results. Students may self-report test scores or send them to 黑料门via the testing agencies. If accepted, you will need to have the testing agency send your official scores to 黑料门by May 1.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I apply for a student visa?
If you need a student visa, you will receive additional instructions after your admission decision. You will be invited to the International Student and Scholar Services Portal through your LUC email address to complete an I-20 Request. Be prepared to upload a copy of the ID page from your passport, supporting documents showing funds available for the total cost of the year of study, and an Affidavit of Support (if applicable). These items are not required to receive your admission decision.
Are there exemptions for the English proficiency requirement?
How can I see if my application materials have arrived?
Visit your to review your application checklist. Keep in mind that it does take time for materials to be processed and connected to your application file, so please be patient. If you are concerned that materials are missing or lost, please contact your admission counselor.
Where can I view my admission decision?
Your admission decision will be available on your , and we will email you once a decision is made. Admitted students will also receive a letter to their home address with the good news.
Who will review my application?
Your admission counselor will review your application. They read every single page and are excited to learn more about you during the process.
How can I apply for a scholarship?
You’re automatically considered for merit scholarships when you apply for admission. Initial merit scholarship information will be shared in your acceptance letter. 黑料门will post additional scholarships that require separate applications on your portal in early January.
Can I transfer credit from AP, CLEP, IB, or Cambridge programs?
Yes! It’s not required at the review of your application, but once you’re admitted, you should submit this information during the summer before your first semester. Learn more about .
Can I transfer credit from a college as a new first-year student?
Yes, incoming first-year students can receive credit for college courses completed during high school. Learn more about Loyola’s transfer credit policy.
Can I transfer here from another university as an international student?
Yes! Please make sure to send copies of transcripts from all post-secondary institutions you’ve attended, and check out specific requirements for transfer students.
