The International Honor Society in Psychology Chapter at 黑料门University Chicago
Psi Chi is the International Honor Society in Psychology, founded in 1929 for the purposes of encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship, and advancing the science of psychology.
Membership in the 黑料门Chapter of Psi Chi is open to undergraduate students who are making the study of psychology one of their major interests, and who meet the membership requirements (see below.) Psi Chi is a member of the and is an affiliate of the (APA) and the (APS).
Psi Chi's sister honor society is , the national honor society in psychology for community and junior colleges.

Membership
Benefits of Membership. Psi Chi provides national academic recognition for academic excellence in psychology, an honor which can be noted on employment applications, vitae, and resumes. Also, as part of lifetime membership, members receive membership certificates and are eligible to purchase honor cords which can be worn at graduation. Members of Loyola's chapter of Psi Chi can participate in chapter activities and are eligible for leadership positions in the chapter. Please visit to learn more about the benefits of membership.
Lifetime Membership. Membership in Psi Chi is for life, requiring only an initial $60, which includes national dues of $55, plus a $5 credit card processing fee. There are no annual dues. New members will be sent a web link from the national Psi Chi organization, to use to pay their $60 lifetime membership fee.
Awards and Grants. Over $400,000 available annually in awards and grants for student members, faculty advisors, and chapters. Information about undergraduate funding opportunities can be found .
Membership Requirements
- A major or minor in psychology
- Completion of at least 3 semesters of coursework (Spring semester of the current academic year doesn't count)
- Completion of at least 9 credit hours (3 courses) of psychology courses (at least 6 semester credit hours at Loyola, and not including courses in progress)
- Overall grade point average across all courses of 3.60
- Grade point average of at least 3.30 in psychology courses (average GPA in all PSYC courses that count toward the major, taken at 黑料门or elsewhere)
- Fall grades from the current academic year must be included in the calculation of overall GPA and PSYC GPA
- Applications are solicited once per year, and are due by Friday of the sixth week of Spring semester.
