Dr. Marilyn Stocker

Adjunct Professor


In addition to teaching at ºÚÁÏÃÅUniversity Chicago, Dr. Marilyn Stocker has a boutique leadership and organization change consulting firm called Wisdom Work, She brings over 35 years of experience and insight to the real world challenges of educating adults in the workplace. She is passionate about leadership and change mastery. She is a founding faculty of the Master of Jurisprudence in Child Law.

With a doctorate in Organization Behavior and Adult Learning from Northwestern University, a Master’s in Leadership and Policy and an English and Literature major at Barnard College, she has been a boundary spanner between academic and business worlds. She was the co-founder, now Dean Emerita and Vice Provost and of Lifelong Learning at the School for New Learning at DePaul University, as well as Associate Dean for Executive Education at Loyola’s Quinlan School of Business.

As a leadership consultant and executive coach for Fortune 100 and 500 firms, her client list includes Harpo Studios (Miss Oprah Winfrey’s media enterprises), BP Amoco, McDonald’s Corporation, News Corp, Allstate Insurance , TransUnion, Slipstream, ComEd/Exelon, LA Care, the People’s Republic of China, Shure Microphones, the University of Chicago, the American Red Cross and the Shedd Aquarium. She taught in graduate school at Northwestern University for over 16 years and worked with Executive Education and Business and the Professions programs at the University of Chicago. She was the Senior Leadership Consultant for the Gallup/Clifton Strengths Organization. Marilyn is the co-author of a forthcoming book called “It Still Requires Humans: Leadership and Technology.” Having worked in China, Japan, South America and Europe, she is a highly experienced consultant, educator and lecturer, who is passionate about leadership.
