Nicole Scott

Nicole Scott, is the Vice President of Compliance, Chief Information Security Officer, and Assistant Privacy Officer for ISMIE Mutual Insurance Company and Illinois State Medical Society.
Mrs. Scott has been with ISMIE Mutual for more than 20 years where she initially specialized in medical professional liability litigation management. In her current role, she manages the Company’s Compliance Program, Cybersecurity Program, and Enterprise Risk Management Program. She is responsible for the enterprise-wide governance initiatives including the development and implementation of privacy, security, and compliance strategies. Mrs. Scott is a certified compliance and ethics professional (CCEP) and a certified health care privacy compliance professional (CHPC) which represents her advanced level of ability and experience in compliance processes to assist healthcare and business organizations understand and address legal and regulatory obligations and to promote organizational governance and integrity through the management of an effective compliance program.
As the CISO, Nicole oversees the Cybersecurity Program and reports to the Board of Directors and Senior Executives on Compliance and Cybersecurity activities to maintain the integrity and security of the Company’s data and systems to meet or exceed industry best practices. In her roles as CISO, HIPAA Security Officer, and Assistant HIPAA Privacy Officer, Nicole maintains the written Data Security Plan to ensure that the policies, procedures, and controls in place are in compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, privacy laws, and NAIC data security laws.
Mrs. Scott received her law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law where she also earned her Masters of Business Administration from with a focus on Corporate Management. Mrs. Scott has been a lecturer for the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys (IAHA) and for numerous healthcare groups. Mrs. Scott is an author in in “The Law of Medical Practice in Illinois”, has served as an Editor for the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys (IAHA) Annual Survey of Health Law since 2019.
