Advising Notes
Important Notes for Advertising Creative majors from Advising:
- Students majoring in Advertising Creative take COMM 175 as a pre-requisite for several of their major courses.
- Because this is a mid-sized major in terms of the number of credits and does not have a lot of strictly sequenced pre-requisites, students are able to add a minor and have flexibility to study abroad during almost any semester.
- The School of Communication offers many courses at the Water Tower Campus (You can identify these classes because LOCUS will show WTC as the campus and they will be held in Schreiber, Corboy, School of Communication buildings). Be sure to leave at least an hour between classes if you are traveling between the Lake Shore and Water Tower campuses.
- School of Communication majors cannot add a second major or minors from the School of Communication.
- If you prefer to take a foreign language in your first semester, you may do so and make room by swapping out one Core class. Be sure to take your placement exam unless you have no classroom experience with the language. The placement exam will tell you which course to enroll in for fall.
