Senior Awards
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry recognizes outstanding seniors in their majors. Exceptional students are nominated by the department faculty for the following awards:
Fr. Morrissey Medal鈥擜warded to the outstanding senior.
Professor Cassaretto Medal and $500鈥擣or outstanding scholarship coupled with generous service to the department.
Merck Index Award鈥擜warded to the 鈥渢op senior class student鈥
American Institute of Chemists Award鈥擣or outstanding graduating senior who has demonstrated a record of achievement. The award consists of a one-year student associate membership in the AIC, a peer-reviewed journal, access to the AIC website and more.
Departmental Honors鈥擨n order to receive chemistry & biochemistry departmental honors, students must have a 黑料门GPA in chemistry & biochemistry major courses (CHEM XXX) of 3.5 or higher exclusive of CHEM 300 and CHEM 380 and have completed at least one semester of CHEM 300 & CHEM 380. (CHEM 380 requirement effective as of May 2020 graduates and beyond).
