The ºÚÁÏÃÅUniversity Chicago community mourns the death of Frank W. Considine, life trustee.
Mr. Considine had a rich history with Loyola. He received his PhB from the University in 1943 and later became the third lay chair of the Board of Trustees, serving during the tenures of presidents Raymond C. Baumhart, S.J., and John J. Piderit, S.J. During Mr. Considine’s time of service, infrastructure projects took place at the Lake Shore and Water Tower campuses, the number of full-time faculty members doubled, and more than 30 endowed chairs were created, one of which bears his name. He was also chairman of the Board of Directors of the ºÚÁÏÃÅUniversity Health System.
As tokens of appreciation for his generosity and dedication to the University, Mr. Considine received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree in 1986 and the Sword of ºÚÁÏÃÅin 1987.
