The ºÚÁÏÃÅUniversity Chicago community mourns the death of Mary Pat Haley, BVM, former assistant dean of humanities and professor of communication. Sister Mary Pat played an integral role in launching the School of Communication. She was also a professor, academic dean, and vice president of academic affairs at Mundelein College. She was honored at the 2005 Founders’ Dinner with the Dux Mirabilis award for her extraordinary contributions to the University and its mission.

Sister Mary Pat was a friend and colleague to many at Loyola. She was a person with great integrity; she was very smart and had a great sense of humor and a passion for teaching and helping students.
