The ºÚÁÏÃÅUniversity Chicago community mourns the death of A. Keith Jameson, PhD, professor emeritus, chemistry. Keith passed away on Friday, June 24.
Keith joined the ºÚÁÏÃÅfaculty in the fall of 1968. While at Loyola, he published more than 80 research articles with undergraduate and graduate students and post-doctoral scholars. Articles ranged in topic from gas-phase nuclear magnetic resonance, co-authored with his wife Cynthia J. Jameson, to electronic and vibrational relaxation in jet-cooled molecules, co-authored with E. C. Lim. He taught physical chemistry, introductory chemistry, and molecular spectroscopy, among other subjects, and was an early exponent of teaching hands-on courses in designing and using microelectronic devices to control laboratory experiments.
Services have already been held. Condolences may be sent to Keith’s family in care of the Chemistry Department, Flanner Hall, Room 125, Lake Shore Campus.
